Portrait photography is an amazing thing to do. From families on location to a new born baby in a studio set up, I love each portrait shoot I do! Capturing family members, loved ones, little ones, older ones, special occasions, happy times, these are such precious things and they need to be photographed so the memories can last forever. As a portrait photographer in York there are endless beautiful outdoor locations I use for natural family photo shoots, and I also have my own studio on Clifton Moor which is ideal for new born photography, young children and bump photography.

I outside love to work on location – either at people's home or a place which is special to them. Location shoots are very natural and I love to make use of the space we have available. Studio shoots are also lovely, and very intimate, which is perfect for babies, or those larger groups wanting a plain backdrop.

If you are having a special event, such as an anniversary or birthday, it is a great opportunity to book me to come along and get those group shots that are not often possible.

I believe family / child / baby portraits are so important to have – people (especially little ones) change so quickly and time goes so fast. Capture as many special moments as you can so you can remember them forever.

The wonderful Nikki Bowling captured our day from bridal prep to the first dance (and beyond). We got the set pieces we requested and a plethora of candid, natural shots which capture our day perfectly. Using low light and lovely poses, I capture pregnant ladies looking their most beautiful. A baby bump is such a gorgeous thing, and I feel that it is most important to capture this special time forever.

There is nothing more gorgeous than a new born baby! I am so passionate about baby photography, and I believe it is so important to capture such an amazing time. Babies change and grow so quickly, and these first photos are something that can be treasured for ever.

Family portraits

A family portrait is something which can be treasured forever, and is often overlooked until children have grown up. It is lovely to capture a family at different stages over the years, and people should not put off having it done, as in years to come they may regret not having had one.
