Photographing the wedding ceremony

The ceremony seems to be the part of each wedding when a lot couples are the most nervous! I feel it is important to photograph the ceremony, but I make sure I do so discreetly and from a distance so as not to intrude on such a personal time.

As with all my wedding photography, I prefer to use as much natural light as possible, and I feel this is important during the ceremony. So long as the room or the church has enough available light, then I can take my shots without a flash disturbing the service.

If I am working in a church I usually stay at the back, as the view looking down the isle makes a lovely shot. In a civil ceremony I am usually positioned at the front, which is equally good as expressions and emotions can be captured.
