Wedding photography – Thicket Priory
I think I can safely say that in over 20 years of being in business I have never had a year with so few weddings! A total of one, since the first lockdown began! Until the other day, when I did my second one in a year! I absolutely love working at weddings – big or small, long or short, I love every single one! I am so lucky that during the pandemic I have been very busy with property photography and have managed to keep going. However, I have really missed weddings, so Michelle and Martin’s special day was a real pleasure.
Michelle and Martin had originally booked me for another date, but, like so many others, had to rearrange. Their new date the other day was perfect weather wise, bright but not too sunny. Michelle looked gorgeous, and the venue was amazing. Thicket Priory, near Wheldrake, is a fairly new wedding venue, and I have to say that it is absolutely stunning. So many opportunities for photos, I could have spent all day just getting pics of the bride and groom! From the building itself, to the lake, the bridges, the woodland, the driveway. Not to mention the amazing huge staircase inside, with mirrors, gorgeous windows, stunning bedrooms, and even it’s own chapel. It is a photographer’s dream!
Michelle and Martin were fab to work with – so easy going and lovely, and my natural style of working fitted perfectly as part of their day. It was so nice come back to wedding photography after such a long time. I have a few more weddings to look forward to this year and I cannot wait! I think 2022 might be a very busy year, when hopefully all restrictions will have eased. It is however, at the moment, perfectly possible to have a gorgeous day in Covid times, and with such a beautiful venue it couldn’t have been better.
